We Are Unstoppable!

Welcome again to the beginning of the last quarter of year 2023. I believe God has been faithful to you like he has been to me and the entire house of Global Harvest Church Island. God’s emphasis for us as a people is that we are unstoppable as a church and even in our individual lives. Simon who was later called Peter represents the normal and natural person before the entry of Jesus into our lives. He seems to be the most unlikely to be used by God to the degree to which he was used. God remains in the business of using the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. That is the story of a man who despite personal weaknesses and natural disqualifications, was still a force to be reckoned with in the scheme of God’s agenda after the departure of Jesus.

One of the turning points in the life of Peter is found in the book of Matthew 16, from verse 13 to 19. Jesus asked the disciples who they say he is and Peter retorted, I believe without thinking as his custom is, ‘you are the Christ, the son of the living God’. That was the game changer. Jesus affirmed this as a revelation from God, and not from any intellect and that he will build his church upon the revelation of his divinity. Note that it is Jesus’s church not that of anyone. It means we should see anything done to the church in the light of the owner being Jesus.

Paul in 2nd Corinthians 5:16 says ‘we regard no one according to the flesh from now on’. This revelation is what transformed Peter from a reed shaken by the wind to a stone carved out of the rock. When we allow the revelation of God’s word to settle in our hearts, we become unstoppable. I believe this is the reason why Paul said in 2nd Corinthians 4 that even when he was struck down, he couldn’t be destroyed. It’s because of the light that shone on his heart.

As postulated by our father, Rev Victor Adeyemi, during the just concluded convention, Revelation leads to transformation, with transformation comes a new level of authority. Authority cannot be devoid of responsibility otherwise it will be abused. But you will observe that the revelation did not transform Peter until it was verbalised. We must be ready to speak boldly about who we are in Christ Jesus for us to be unstoppable in reality. We cannot allow the enemy to shut us up. Mark 11:23 speaks so much about saying than even believing.

I have good news for you! You are the one that God will use to make a difference in our world. You are the one that will make thousands of disciples. You are the one that will transform your territory and change the trajectory of your sphere of influence.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

CHILDREN’S CORNER
SERVING ONE ANOTHER

Hello children of God, you are welcome to another exciting episode of learning with FLOAT newsletter. We are hoping that you enjoyed the last episode with Amaka and Jumoke??? My name is Nifemi and I am here with Sammie. Before we go any further, we need you to open your bible and turn to Mark Chapter 9 and read verses 33‑37.

Okay then, have you finished reading? I hope you have. Now let’s continue… If you can, grab or call a friend and read on together.

Nifemi: Okay that was short and sweet, well done. Sammie, did you understand what you just read?

Sammie: Hmmm I do to some extent, but what did Jesus mean when He said “If anyone desires to be first, he must be last of all, and servant of all.” Does it mean I must be last in everything and be a servant?

Nifemi: (Laugh) Not exactly, Jesus is trying to explain to us the meaning of GREATNESS. What you must do to become the greatest. He teaches us If greatness is what you want, then you must become a servant of all man. By serving others we are learning to be attentive to another person needs, to make sacrifices, to assist with an open heart, to express love and care.

Sammie: Serving, sounds like you humble yourself and in doing so you are blessed.

Nifemi: Exactly, to even enter the kingdom of God, you must be humble in all your doings.

Sammie: Now I understand, and I hope our readers understand it to. The greatness man that walked the earth demonstrated to us a selfless love by sacrificing his life so that we could be free. Therefore “do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love”.

Nifemi: My Guy, Sammie, did you just quote Galatians 5:13 NKJV? You are truly blessed.

DEVELOPMENT CORNER
Suspend Judgement

I once went for an interview where the interviewer quickly decided based on my calm nature and looks that I was not the person they wanted. It was a group interview; the interviewer asked us to introduce ourselves and tell the group why the job should be ours. When it was my turn to speak, I noticed he didn’t seem as interested in me as he was in others. I wasn’t worried, I had two minutes to sell myself. Barely 15 seconds into my introduction, he stopped me with a shocked look on his face and said “you do not look like you could
speak all those words that came out of you and so eloquently at that”.

I smiled and replied “never judge the book by it’s cover, sir”. As humans, we tend to judge easily, we make first impressions and stick to them, but have you ever stopped to consider “what if it’s the second or third impression that matters? ”We do not have the authority to judge just because we’ve formed a perception of how things should be or because of someone’s fault. The authority belongs to God. Matthew 7:1 says “Do not judge or you too will be
judged”.

BIBLICAL POETRY
Persistent is key

Persistence is Key to all that we do,
It can help calm and deliver you,
Take us to a place that we are rarely ever at,
A place of peace and serenity,
by where Jesus is at,
If we are persistent in life and persistent in prayer,
God will answer us, in His own time,
not when we think is fair,
Persistence is Key in all things new,
How many know this, sadly very few,
When you’re in need of help and have nowhere to turn,
Remember that Persistence is Key and rewards you will earn,
Be fervent in prayer and be persistent and true,
For the children of God are very very few.

We must persevere,
throughout all of our trials.
We must take that extra step,
even if it is one hundred miles.
Never give up.
That is not why we were made.
Always keep the faith. Do not be dismayed.

As we persevere in this life of ours,
remember that Jesus is always near.
Christ told us that our lives would not be easy,
but as long as we believe in Him.
He would carry us through the good times and the bad.
So persevere in everything that you do,
and Jesus will be with you always.

HEALTH CORNER
Gaining knowledge About Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the breast tissue. It is the most common cancer among women worldwide. It occurs when cells in the breast tissue grow uncontrollably, forming a lump or mass. If left untreated, breast cancer can spread to other body parts, such as the lymph nodes, bones, liver, and lungs. Breast cancer affects 2.1 million women and causes 15% of female cancer deaths. Over 620,000 women died of breast cancer
in 2018. In Nigeria, breast cancer is the leading malignancy in women, accounting for 22.7% of new cases. In 2018, it had the highest breast cancer mortality rate of 12,000 deaths. Symptoms of breast cancer include a lump or thickening in the breast or underarm area, changes in the size or shape of the breast, nipple discharge, or changes in the skin of the breast, such as redness, dimpling, or puckering. Not all lumps or changes in the breast are cancerous, but it is
essential to have them checked by a doctor to rule out any potential issues.

Several risk factors are associated with breast cancer, including age, gender, family history, genetics, and lifestyle factors such as alcohol consumption, obesity, and lack of physical activity. Women over 50 are at a higher risk of developing breast cancer. Early detection is crucial for the treatment of breast cancer. Common treatments include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormone
therapy, and targeted therapy. Sometimes, a combination of treatments may be used to achieve the best possible outcome.

Breast cancer can be a challenging and emotional experience for patients and their families. It is essential to have a strong support system and access to resources
such as counseling, support groups, and educational materials. Many organizations, such as the Nigerian Cancer Society, offer support for those affected by breast cancer. For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee
of thy wounds, saith the LORD; “because they called thee an outcast, saying, this is Zion”, whom no man seeketh after. Jeremiah 30:17 KJV.

CLOSURE
When we choose to live a loveless life, we automatically grant the enemy access to our lives. At that point, the enemy becomes invested in manipulating the individual’s life in whatever way he chooses.

Living a loveless life puts someone in the dark. This is by the Word of God. If anyone claims, “I am living in the light,” but hates a fellow believer, then that person is still living in darkness. 1 John 2:9 (NLT).

Living a loveless life breeds hatred, blind criticism, unhealthy rebuke, and a sedentary life, among other negative things. All these are fundamental operations of the enemy, and the way to liberation is to embrace the life of God which is Loving people around you.

Walking in love, is walking in the life of God which brings forth the light of God all around you.
